Ellie as a Nurse surely you must agree using Enteric coated Asprin, thats what they prevent !

I'm aware of the coating,thank you. However, I was refering to aspirin in general..and in any case it should be monitored as should all medictions.

How can you monitor a medication that is used regular in this country by millions of people maybe daily or otherwise.....I think that statement is very juvenile considering it is sold as an every day Analgesic.

Since it's my area of work I do know what I'm talking about,
Asprin is also prescribed for long term use and it is to that which I am referring and for prescribed medications reviews occur. Furthermore, If some one is needing to take asprin ( or any other over the counter medication) on a daily basis then they need to see a doctor to find out why,( you'll also find it on the box ) that would be sensible.
I reiterate, I would not recommend taking aspirin or any medication on a long term basis without a prescription.

this subject as had quite a bit of press in the last few weeks and there are certain people who do take asprin on a long term bases whether perscribed or not.

As most of us on the forum do not have medical knowledge of the long term effects on the individual and there circumstances (ie medicine already being take) its always advisable to seek professional advice before doing something on hearsay or unqualified advises. note - everyone medical situations is different,
