In English it means Saint Mary's Church in the hollow of white hazel near a rapid whirlpool and the Church of Saint Tysilio near the red cave.
My dad used to tell us (after we all learned to say it) that the name was made up by the local cobbler, just for the railway station, to bring more tourist trade to the area.
He spent a lot of time there when he was a kid - have loads of rellies from Llanfair.
