Just to add a bit more. I have a Hellen/Ellen White born about 1844 Halesowen, she was bought up by her Hackett Grandparents, Thomas born 1799 and Harriet in Halesowen. Just wondered if Ellen could be Ellen Hackett? Harriet Hackett was nee White, she had 4 children with her first husband Edward White, the two sons I think died young? Phoebe White born 1816 married Henry White, they are in Islington with a load of children. There was another daughter Ann born 1824, Ellen could be the illegitimate daughter of Ann? If Ellen grew up with her Hackett Grandparents, she may have well called herself Hackett rather than White? This does not say who Benjamin was of course, being as he was dead by the time Ellen Married he could have been a figment of her imagination? Best Wishes linell.

I found Bradney they are neighbours to Joseph Stokes in 1841 and later.

The only thing I wondered is if that Richard Hackett living near these Whites in 1841 might have been significant..but then gave up..

There has got to be something in this lot here as to why Meshach is living with them in 1861.
Ann is an Ann Partridge I think
She marries a William White.

Who is that Joseph Hackett next door!
I think his father is a Charles Hackett.

Going back I did find a William White married a Nancy Hackett...

I think that Joseph Hackett in 1861 has a father Charles but cant find a bapt only one that dies in 1824!

Wonder where this Joseph is in 1851?
He must link to Meshach somehow...

I think that marriage of Joseph and Mary is possibly a 2nd marriage
Those kids Joseph and Charles are so young
I am wondering if the marriage with father Benjamin on is mistranscribed?
Is joseph his father?

I don't see the need to split it at the moment.
The way we do this is we run on a thread and see what comes out of it.
I am normally the one that does the look ups and so it is up to the people concerned to ask for a relevant look up.
And post in the relevant section.
I then do what I can when I can.

The Joseph is that one living next door to Meshach in 1861.
He is b abt 1812 age 49 in 1861.

The trouble is in this area Hackett is one of the most common names.

Hi NL, my Joseph born about 1809 didn't die in 1824, just goes to show how wrong the IGI can be. He is in Islington in 1841 with Charles and Mary aged 25. In 1851 there is a Joseph Hackett aged 41 Lodging with a Wm Evans and family, is this him, his age seems to be all over the place, he is Unmarried, if this is him he can't be Meshach's Dad?? In 1861 he is in Dog Lane aged 49 and Mary is a Widow by 1871.

Mary has been Married before, think she was Mary Brooks, Married Joseph in 1852. On the 1871 Census Mary is still in Dog Lane, HD Wid aged 53 born Hill Halesowen. Joseph aged 19 and Charles aged 15. Also Mary's daughter Maria Mucklow Widow with children Sarah aged 8 Joseph aged 5 and Wm J. 7 months. Will have another look tomorrow, best wishes from linell.

lots of sibs for Joseph...parents Charles and Mary.

I suppose Mary could be the mother?
Wonder if it is possible to find her on the 1841?

the only one I am getting up is the name Yates and of course the name Yates featured before in the name for Ellen White dau of Ann White - was she dau of Harriet White and then brought up by her Hackett Grandparents
