The way i understand it its how we link to and from other sites as nl said the higher the mark out of ten the better the ranking small sites like our usually about 3 out of 10, so 4 good. someone might able to explain it better than me

4 is good isn't it?

I think it helps that the title of each post (what we choose to call our post) appears as the title of the page (right at the top of the screen).
To get good page ranking it helps if there are keywords in the title and in the text on the page. So the more times we use keywords in our posts the better.
And as Pete said, linking to and from other sites helps. If we link to high ranking sites then our ranking improves :-)
So this one http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/ is good for us because it has a ranking of 8/10.

The new Cradley Links page is 3/10, as is our own lovely BCC so you can see that we are doing well. Cradley Links has the same title for every single page so that probably holds their rank down a bit. Rootschat is 4/10 like us. You can check sites here: http://www.prchecker.info/check_page_rank.php if you want.

So what are the key words we need to use to up our rating - I'm not feeling competitive but like to understand how you it is possible to "win" - how do we link to other sites?

Sex Schoolgirl Big Boobs Hamster

When Google indexes those few words out hit rate will go through the roof :)

I do think this site is set out reasonable compared to other BBS.

It is very hard to "stand out" when everybody is using the same software.

Mmm! The problem is that Google cottoned on to tricks like those and included a penalty system so that naughty people can actually get zero ratings.
I think we are doing just fine - and in any case I don't really understand it
