Postby HarryinKF » Tue Oct 21, 2008 5:08 pm

Hi,
Thanks for your reply to my message re DINGLEYs (of the Black Country) I have already had a good look at your excellent site and see you have all my direct ancestors on it!! I also have had a look at the dos and dont's.
My direct DINGLEY ancestors are: Mother Dingley Mary W.R. (b.1886), Grandfather Dingley Henry (b.1849), Gr Grandfather, Dingley Samuel (b.1794), and Gr Gr Grandfather Dingley William (b.1755). My Gr Aunt and Uncles are Samuel (b.1822), Able (b. 1835),and Mirah (b. 1837). All of which are already on your tree (some with a different birth date).
I have been tracing the DINGLEYs from the Blackcountry who have spread as far as the US and Australia and New Zealand, and the VINCETTs from Kent who have also spread around the world.
And yes I definitely would like to join and help you with your tree.

Hi Harry welcome

Ok let's get some of you and yours on Connections!
so I will if you like add these with your username of Harry and I could do with some more links to them so do you want to give me some more?
Have you any other names from the Black country or surrounding area besides Dingleys/
And do you have the accurate dobs as I can then look at correcting any dates already on. As we dont just change them we liaise with the initial person who added them...so..

let's go to it!

ps any queries or brickwalls do ask and if we can help we will

Peterd,
We don't have any positive information on when or where William was born. However a late Dingley cousin came up with this information that may apply, but it is as he wrote only a guess.

There was a family in Barston , Warwick, England that has several characteristics that may fit. Edward Dingley and Sarah. They had two sons Robert Dingley and William Dingley. Robert was christened in Barston , Warwick , England 29 APR 1753; William was christened in Barston , Warwick , England 12 JAN 1755. This is a close match to Williams death certificate in 1842 when died at age 86 (1756). Also in Halesowen at the second marriage of Robert Dingley and Esther civiter William was a witness.

Most of my information is based census data, have to have a look to refresh my memory.

Hi Peter,

The list of christenings was the same one I used for Robert and William I was just a bit lazy an only included Robert and William.
Here are the dates we have for my ancestors.

Mother
Dingley, Mary Walburg Rachel
b. 26 Oct 1885
d. 1971

Gr Father
Dingley, Henry Kirk While
b. 6 Jan1839 Quinton
d.1908

Gr Grandfather
Samuel Dingley
b,1794 Halesowen
d. 1876

Gr Gr Grandfather
William Dingley
b. ABT 1755
d. 1842

I would have to dig a bit for data on these dates. They were mutually confirmed several years back bettween me and several of my cousins and entered in a tree that was posted online by a late cousin Francis William Dingley. However, one never making up dates and corrections when better information is found.

Not sure what is meant by connection.
If it helps, I am of course related to my direct ancetors and also all the descendants of William b. cir 1855.
