101 Years Old and VE Day

Post by BC Wench »

Look who is 101 Years Old tomorrow

viewtopic.php?p=237043&hilit=BC+Wench#p237043

Where on earth has that year gone???

We are not doing the "whole hog" this year. A nice evening meal at our local hotel & restaurant just for the 4 of us tomorrow night and a buffet at the Care Home where Megan lives. She is doing really really well, she has her bad times but she keeps bouncing back.

Because of VE Day being 80yrs old on the 8th May this year, Boarder Television last Thursday went to the Care Home where she and 3 other 100 years old ladies live to do an interview and it was really great. Going to be on TV some time next week, they are going to let us know.

Before the interview we'd already asked Megan if she could remember VE Day 1945 and she said yes, I made an outfit for Stephen (Ken) and we had to tell her he wasn't even born then and she wasn't married until 1946 (she was thinking of the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth) She said exactly the same at the interview and funnily enough, none of the other ladies could remember VE Day either which me and Ken couldn't believe.

Wow!
What an amazing lady!
I hope you all celebrate a little quieter but as just as special, as I am sure you will do.

Happy Birthday, Megan, for tomorrow!

The birthday celebrations went really really well, enjoyed by all. Thank you ladies for your birthday wishes

The VE Day interview is hopefully going to be on Border Television tomorrow night. Unfortunately, this ITV channel doesn't cover the Black County, but I do wonder if it will be on ITV News at Ten.

The VE Celebration interview which took place at Megan's care home wasn't on the telly last night.

My sister-in-law who lives in the Black Country, has sent me a message to say that last night she managed to find ITV Border on ITVX. So here's hoping it will be on telly tonight.
