Thanks, Mallosa. Sidney was the eldest of 6 children born to Richard Elcock and Jane Elizabeth nee Wooldridge, although two of his siblings (Richard and Cyril) died in infancy. His father, Richard, was the eldest of 9 children born to John Elcock and Lilias Ann nee Gough - Lily being a sibling to my great grandmother Charlotte Cardoe nee Gough. If you want details of Richard and Jane's other children or John and Lily's other children, let me know.

Mallosa, Sidney's father was listed as Richard in the 1881, 1891 and 1911 censuses, on the baptisms of two of his children in 1910 and 1913, and on his burial in 1950. He gave his name as George at his marriage to Jane Elizabeth Wooldridge and on the 1901 census. In 1921, he gives his name as Richard George Elcock which perhaps explains the confusion. Richard and Jane were still living at 8 Dennis Street in 1921.
