good afternoon, i have traced back my paternal ancesters through the male line to coming from an area around Bristol call kingswood. His name is John Taylor, born about 1803 who with his family, later arrived in an area known as sweet turf in netherton some years later. The kingswood colliers are of much interest to me , their mining activity led to the prosperity of Bristol during the industrial revolution and were 'tamed' by the methodist preacher John Wesley as they were excluded from normal society at the time due to their unruliness and were largley feared in the area. I was wondering if anyone else has found any connections to these colliers in the course of their research and , if so, would like to post up and share their findings.
