Re: Payton family connections

With reference to the note and entry on Bcc the first marriage needs to be removed. Elizabeth was definitely a spinster when she married Thomas Knight Reynolds. John Hay (1837) was born out of wedlock. My cousin wondered if John could be called a stepson if there is definitely no evidence re the father. If you look at the marriage record Thomas is a bachelor and Elizabeth a spinster. If Thomas is the father it seems strange waiting four years to get married. It also means Elizabeth left John in Rochford (it is known by the family that he was brought up initially by Elizabeth's parents) either to find work or to save face. There is no mention of her profession on the marriage entry. My cousin has asked whether there is any information about Blucher Street and Holt Street at that time or any photos she can source on the Internet. I have looked in my Birmingham A-Z and can see they are fairly central but as a non resident can't help.

I have changed the marriage to Not Married. There is a note added to John to say his father could be Thomas Knight Reynolds.

I have no idea about the Streets.

I have connected up Charlotte here https://www.tribalpages.com/tribe/brows ... =710443718
It has taken me all day to sort the families out and connect up on BCC

By the way the Mary Shuker who married Cyril is the sister of Clara Eveline who married William Knowles. William is related to me, his Grandfather is also my G G Grandfather.

Thanks for the entries. It's a small world, I will let my cousin know of the connection you have.
I have just posted a lot more information on the Payton side and if I check what I have been sent there is still more. There is no rush adding to Bcc, would just be appreciated if it could show up eventually. It has taken me some time to transcribe the information I've been sent and likewise for my cousin to send it. All much appreciated.

Re John Hay. My cousin would prefer to have no mention of Thomas Knight Reynolds being the possible father as she is sure he isn't. The information on Elizabeth's entry reads alright, it's the sentence on John and Thomas's pages about 'probable father's that's the problem.

Thanks for the change and the additions you are making. I have already explained to my cousin how the entries are checked and how few people there are making additions so no need to rush. I have more information on Isabel's relatives but I will leave sending anything until another time if you let me know when extra additions possible. I come from a family of historians so know how hard it is.

Probably best to start a new thread Frodo for each one that needs adding
and as you are aware not many people adding to Bcc so thank you Kdw for your help there.
The thread gets too long and complicated if you try and add lots of ancestors so new thread for each one please.

Kdw I will stick this for you and if you could put completed on when done I can archive
and Frodo can start new threads for each ancestor.
Then if anyone can check the info and add all will be good

Thank you. My cousin looked yesterday and appreciates the work and the fact that more of her family on Bcc. In doing so she noticed a typo. Charles Beaumont has his surname misspelt as Beaumont if this could be changed please.
I have more information embedded in emails including about the Hay and Allen families but I will wait a while and feed it individually as requested.

Thanks. I will get my cousin to look and will look more closely myself over the next few days. I am pretty sure I have more details from information sent and also from Ancestry. I have used evidence before adding to the tree so hopefully all should be accurate.
