Hi
William Linsell married Mary Golway in Manchester (24th March 1845) he's was in the70th Foot & their 1st Daughter Was Sarah (born in Newry- the foot was Stationed there soon afterwards)
her father was Patrick Golway (possibly a Glazier by trade) in the 1861 census her birth place is Ireland,, I have checked Irish & Uk records and can find nothing on them..
Could they have moved from Ireland & changed there names?

If she could not write then it may just be a case of spelling variation rather than an actual name change. Pity that the Irish records are generally so patchy
