Mary was the daughter of Thomas CRUMP(sometimes CRUMPTON/CROMPTON) - wonder why she took her mother's family name?

She married Charles PERRY 24 Nov 1890 at St Luke's Reddal Hill - He had been married previously to Emma JONES (St Thomas Dudley 1863) with whom he had several children, the last born in 1882. However, the four children Charles PERRY had with Mary KING were b. 1872/75/79/81, so was he living a double life?

It's possible that Mary KING could also have been married previously, but have not found evidence so far.

I dont think Mary was previously Married although she states widow on marriage cert

Any idea why Chas Perry & Mary King(s) children would take Mary's surname and not Perry?

I maybe wrong but unless a DNA test is done i don't see how you can prove that Marys children are the children of Charles.

They were all born before they were married.
