Elliott’s of Sowe and Hucknall

Postby Tempest » Thu Jul 23, 2020 9:11 am

Hi, just joined. Researched my Elliott family about 10 years ago but hit a brick wall and stopped. Have just taken out a subscription to Find my Past. Filled in a lot of gaps eagerly waiting 1921 census. But brick wall still exists! I’ll post it in your “Brick wall” thread.
My Elliott’s were mainly silk ribbon weavers in Walsgrave on Sowe with the occasional miner. In the 1880’s when silk weaving was in decline they moved to the new frontier of Hucknall in Nottingham to resume the coal mining skills in the family

Hi Tempest, welcome to the forum
A person should have an opinion on everything, It becomes tact whether you reveal that opinion or not.
