I cannot find these on census

Thanks for the marriage details which could be the same Emma/ Emily onto her 3rd marriage - its getting complicated.
This could be them on the 1871 census:
1871 Census West Bromwich Staffordshire
John Adams, Head, 39, Bricklayer labourer, Coschill Warwickshire England
Emma Adams, Wife, 38, West Bromwich Staffordshire England
William Adams, Son, 14, West Bromwich Staffordshire England
John Adams, Son, 12, Pelsall Staffordshire England
Thomas Adams, Son, 10, Pelsall Staffordshire England
George Adams, Son, 1, West Bromwich Staffordshire England

A possibility but I can't find a GRO 1870/1 birth for a George Adams with a mother maiden name Burgwin or Blakemore, and John is recorded as a bricklayer not Timber merchant so perhaps its not them.

Ah, Its unlikely to be the Emma/Emily we are looking for in that Adams family because here they are in the 1861 census and we think Emma/Emily was living with Thomas Harris in 1861

1861 Census Pensall Staffordshire
John Adams, Head, 27, Bicknell Warwickshire England
Emma Adams, Wife, 26, West Bromwich Staffordshire England
William Adams, Son, 4, West Bromwich Staffordshire England
John Adams, Son, 9/12, West Bromwich Staffordshire England

Many thanks for putting Blakemores, Burgwins and Oakleys onto BCC.
I'm looking through our posts again to see whether there is more to do on this thread and noticed that the brides father has been added incorrectly as George Burgwin instead of John Burgwin, please could you amend to John, thanks :-)

I'll see whether any DNA matches throw any light on some of my queries on this family, though I'm still waiting for Ancestry's 'ThruLines' to take effect.

Thanks for the tweak :-)

I've found more evidence that both BLAKEMAN and BLAKEMORE were used for the same family:

https://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/t ... ver=481786

Marriage FreeReg: 26 Sep 1799 Josiah Blakeman, B, Sedgley, and Phebe Wedge, S Sedgley. Witnesses Sarah Dunn and Thomas Newton, at All Saints, Sedgley, Staffordshire.

Baptisms of their children on FreeReg:
26 Mar 1802 Mary Ann, Father Josiah BLAKEMAN and mother Phebe, St Leonard Bilston, Staffordshire
01 Jan 1807 John, Father Josiah BLAKEMORE and mother Phebe, St Leonard , Bilston, Staffordshire
23 Oct 1808 Nancy, Father Josiah BLAKEMORE and mother Phebe, St Leonard, Bilston, Staffordshire
1 Sep 1811 Josiah, Father Josiah BLAKEMORE and mother Phebe, St Leonard, Bilston, Staffordshire
16 Aug 1814, Henry, Father Josiah BLAKEMAN, blacksmith and mother Phebe, St Leonard , Bilston, Staffordshire
05 Nov 1816, Edward, Father Josiah BLAKEMORE, blacksmith and mother Phebe, St Leonard, Bilston, Staffordshire

The son Josiah is the one already on BCC.

BLAKEMAN, PHEBE , died aged 76 , GRO Reference: 1846 D Quarter in WOLVERHAMPTON & SEISDON Volume 17 Page 280

I've more supporting evidence for Phebe Wedge - Ancestry Thurlines indicates 16(!) DNA matches for my friend linking to her to them through 4 possible siblings of Phebe Wedge and father Daniel Wedge.
Although some of these links may be wrong, on balance it seems good supporting evidence.

England, Select Births and Christenings, 1538-1975
Baptism 28 Feb 1773
Albrighton Near Wolverhampton,Shropshire,England
Phebe Wedge
father Daniel Wedge
mother Anne

Shropshire, England, Extracted Church of England Parish Records, 1538-1812
Baptism 28 Feb 1773
Phebe Wedge
Father Daniel Wedge
Mother Anne Wedge

Phebe's mother appears to be Anne Nickolds / Nichols
England, Select Marriages, 1538–1973
01 Mar 1763
Albrighton Near Wolverhampton,Shropshire,England
Daniel Wedge
Anne Nickolds

On Ancestry there is also a record for Daniel Wedge and Ann Nichols in a 'Millennium file' - I've not noticed this type of source before:
Original data: Heritage Consulting. The Millennium File. Salt Lake City, UT, USA: Heritage Consulting.
Created by the Institute of Family Research to track the records of its clients and the results of its professional research.
One of the things the Millennium File focuses on is linking to European nobility and royalty.

Name Daniel Wedge
Gender Male
Christening Date 25 Nov 1721
Christening Place Pattingham, Staffs, England
Death Date abt 1801
Burial Date 25 Sep 1801
Burial Place Albrighton By Wolverhampton, Shrops, England
Marriage Date 1 Mar 1763
Marriage Place Albrighton By Wolverhampton, Shrops, England
Father James Wedge
Mother Mary
Spouse Ann Nichols
Children Martha Wedge
Spouse Father James Nichols
Spouse Mother Mary Sharrett

I could list the other likely children of Daniel WEDGE but that could be done another time on another thread.

Hi, I've not made progress on this since detailing the information about the Wedge family which could be put on BCC if there is time.
The tree I was working on has gone to my friend who is planning to look over it with her brother, then I might get involved with it again, I'll see how they get on.
In the meantime this could be archived.
Thanks very much for your help.

Hi Thanks for adding the Wedge children
I've noticed on BCC there are 2 Josiah Blakemores born abt 1811 with the same parents (Phoebe Wedge and Josiah Blakemore), so the one with the least detail can be deleted.
Then, yes this thread can be archived.
Thank you :-)
