David Batham b abt 1866 on BCC

Post by sp1 »

I think this David Batham:
https://www.tribalpages.com/tribe/brows ... =231393413

Is this one in the 1881 census:

Fenton St, Brierley Hill
Johannah Batham, head, 50, widow
George Batham, son, 22, Ironworker Labourer
Thomas Batham, son,20, Ironworker Labourer
Edward Batham, son, 18, Ironworker Labourer
David Batham, son, 15, Butcher (Apprentice)
Emily Batham, dau, 13
All born Brierley Hill

The clue is in his siblings Edward and Emily, who were the witnesses to his marriage.
There is one other David Batham born about the same time (1863), but he has no close relatives named Edward and Emily that I can see.

This would be the parents marriage:
5 June 1854, St Thomas, Dudley
Thomas BAYTHAM/ Joanna Davies

That's as far as I've got - not sure which Thomas Batham this is : marriage lookup would help

Joanna is also a widow in the 1871 census, with the addition that son George is George H, and there is another son, Joseph, aged 14, and this time Joanna says she was born Ludlow
