Now, I'm really interested in what people look like, and see family resemblences, plus having a face fills out the picture more. Obviously the further you get into the Victorian times the less likely that any image will appear. Unless you happen to find some kind of painting or you have the money to locate a grave, exhume and have an artist build a face from a skull, your going to have to find photos.
Now Edwin (b1906), or Edwin Jnr, is the son of my paternal Great Great Grandfather Edwin Toye (b1860) or Edwin Snr. I'd love to get a photo of Edwin Snr, well any of my family really, but especially him. Edwin Jnr died in 1986, so there may be existing family in the Black Country who may well be linked to this man and know of a shoebox in an attic somewhere with some old photographs of Edwin Snr, maybe even personal effects, perhaps even a photograph of his first wife. That would be find and no mistake.
So what would be my first move here?
Also I have found on Ancestry a marriage in June 1932 to a Yates, possible match? But I also have found a Birth record of an Edwin Jesse Toye b 1903 in Birmingham/Warwickshire area.
Actually I just found another marriage in 1932 by an Edwin J Toye to a Manley, in the Birmingham/Warwickshire area. So I have 2 Edwin Toye's. So I guess I need to eliminate one or the other.

I tried Google images and found a photo which is here
http://records.ancestry.com/Edwin_Jesse ... d=43880504
so I guess that rules out Edwin Jesse? Unless it is another...

I guess a death certificate for Edwin d1986 would be useful.
