ARC TBC Mary Ann Hillman - COMPLETED

Postby SRD » Fri Jun 22, 2012 4:09 pm

I have :
Births Jun 1867 (>99%)
Hillman Mary Ann Cuckfield 2b 144

Entry from Cowfold St Peter 1813 - 1901
First names Mary Ann
Surname HILLMAN
Sex d
Baptism Date 16-Jun
Year baptised 1867
Father first names James
Father surname HILLMAN
Mother first names Jane
Mother surname HILLMAN
Occupation Labourer

Census 1881
Emily Mathew Head Unm 41 Fancy Shopkeeper Uckfield
Mary A. Hilman Servant 13 Servant Cowfold
Civil parish: St Mary Stoke Newington
County: London
Street Address: 177 Church St, Stoke Newington, London
Registration district: Hackney
Sub-registration district: Stoke Newington
ED: 5
Schedule no: 93

After that I can't find her. Some family sites have her dying in 1881 but I don't think that relates to her but to:
Births Mar 1867 (>99%)
Hillman Mary Cuckfield 2b 143

Can anyone find her for me please.
Source information would be appreciated

Civil Registration event: Marriage

Name: HILLMAN, Mary Ann
Registration district: Brighton
County: Sussex
Year of registration: 1885
Quarter of registration: Apr-May-Jun
Spouse's last name: Not available before 1912
Volume no: 2B
Page no: 416

MarriageFinder: Mary Ann Hillman married one of the following people:

PAGE, John Edward

REENE, William

HARMAN, Annie

I found John with Annie in Brighton in 1891 so the remaining pair is William Reene and Mary Ann Hillman....

Ok, I've found a probate notice:
Reene William of 86 Lincoln-street Brighton died 1 June 1908 Probate Lewes 26 July to Mary Ann Reene widow. Effects £243 19s. 11d.

Probably
Births Sep 1860 (>99%)
REENE William James Reigate 2a 125

and
Deaths Jun 1908 (>99%)
Reene William 47 Brighton 2b 137

The problem is, I also have
Births Jun 1864 (>99%)
HILLMAN Mary Ann Brighton 2b 207

I can't find William & Mary Ann in the 1901 census so can't tell which of the two Mary Ann Hillmans is William Reene's wife. Can anyone else track them down in 1901 please?

Is this still a Brickwall, or have you solved it?
