Post by viva1angel »

hi there, am hoping you may be able to help me yet again.

I have a Henrietta Johns treloar born 1903 in cornwall.

I have her with a Son Geoffrey born in london 1925 under the Treloar name.

I Have Found a death Record for south Africa for 2nd April 1928 under a name Henrietta JAMES

Here is where i am Stuck.

I have Found a Ship manifest for Henrietta johns Treloar Departing in 1926. I cannot View this without a Subscription :-(

I have also Found a Norman James Marrying a H JTreloar in 1926 But the place value is Empty????

Can Anyone help me Figure out this puzzle???

Many thanks

Just abit of an Update after a day of Bashing Head against Computer Screen.....

I have Found henrietta Leaving The uk aboard the SS barradine in 1926 Bound for South Africa as we thought...

Son was Left behind to be Adopted By another Family...... (have Found a neice of the Boy In Question who has Confirmed all that i know so far)

But now we are Lost....

We have her in the Family Bible getting married... but no record of her Doing it in the UK.. and She Dies 2 years after arriving in South Africa. She was Traveling alone on the Ship Manifest :-S

Any help would be great

More information......

Found another Treloar with a Family Bible Stating that

Henrietta Johns TRELOAR, b. 2 Aug. 1903; d. in Africa 2 Aug. 1928; md. 15 May 1926 Norman JAMES. G. H. L. JAMES, son of Norman James

Am assuming they married in africa seeing as she baorded on the 21st April 1926

So she married 24 days After She Set sail for Africa......

Any Idea on how long it takes to get there??

i have Quite a bit of Information now... just none of the pieces Solve the main Puzzle :-S

Poor woman was probably still sea-sick when she married!

It says here 15 days for Southampton to Cape Town on a 16.5 knots ship. http://www.oceanlinermuseum.co.uk/Union ... story.html

If you google SS Baradine there is various information about the ship, and pictures. I think it said on one site that she was 16 knots so 15 days would be about right perhaps.
