ARC TBC...............Frances Taylor b abt 1776

Post by Maths girl »

I have a death certificate for Frances which is dated 21 March 1862 and that she was the widow of Gilbert Taylor, a Nailer. The information was given by Sarah Westwood, present at death.

I believe these are the census that relate to her.

1841 Sidemore Pleck, Bromsgrove
MAUNSELL, William M 60 1781 Worcestershire Nail Maker
MAUNSELL, Mary F 35 1806 Worcestershire Nail Maker
MAUNSELL, Sarah F 20 1821 Worcestershire Nail Maker
MAUNSELL, Emma F 15 1826 Worcestershire Nail Maker
MAUNSELL, Maryanne F 4 1837 Worcestershire
MAUNSELL, Joseph M 12 1829 Worcestershire Button Maker
TAYLOR, Frances F 65 1776 Worcestershire Nail Maker

1851 Sidemoor, Bromsgrove
MASCALL, Edwin Head Married M 56 1795 Nailor Bromsgrove Worcestershire
MASCALL, Mary Wife Married F 48 1803 Nailor Bromsgrove Worcestershire
MANSELL, Joseph Wife Son Unmarried M 23 1828 Nailor Bromsgrove Worcestershire
MANSELL, Ann Wife Daughter Unmarried F 14 1837 Nurse Maid Bromsgrove Worcestershire
TAYLOR, Frances Lodger Widow F 73 1778 Bromsgrove Worcestershire

1861 Cherry Orchard, Rowley Regis
WAKEMAN, George Head Married M 27 1834 Coal Miner Bromsgrove Worcester
WAKEMAN, Matilda Wife Married F 26 1835 Brierley Hill Stafford
WAKEMAN, Benjn Son Unmarried M 6 1855 Scholar Rowley Stafford
WAKEMAN, Mary A Daughter Unmarried F 0 (6M) 1861 Rowley Stafford
TAYLOR, Frances Grandmother Widow F 85 1776 Nail Maker Bromsgrove Worcester (I think there is a "former" included here on original)

We followed the Wakeman's back recently on a thread that I can't now find but I don't think we actually linked Frances in as a Grandmother to George or his wife, Matilda Holt -- here on BCC --http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tribe/browse?view=0&rand=548582044&pid=73919&userid=bcconnections

Was this an actual relationship or an honorary title -- can anyone find the next generation of baptisms etc backwards?

1841 Sidemore Pleck, Bromsgrove
WAKEMAN, Richard M 40 1801 Worcestershire
WAKEMAN, Mary F 50 1791

Jo :)

Clever Jo -- I knew I could rely on you -- yes Frances is mentioned on that post but then I think we got distracted down a different route and never followed her up -- having just found the death certificate that I sent for ages ago in case it gave a snippet of linking info --which it didn't - unless you count that her husband was Gilbert -- I thought someone might like to have another go.

It doesnt look like its Matildas Grand mother does it?
Her mother, Mary Ann Pugh.

Jimmy got a christening,
George Wakeman
19 Feb 1834 BROMSGROVE,WORCESTER,
mother's name: Jane Wakeman

But he puts Sampson Wakeman as father but none that name to be found?

Oddly theres
from family search

Sampson Taylor
29 May 1814 Bromsgrove, Worcester, England
Father's Name: Gilbert Taylor
Mother's Name: Frances

School has started again -- archive for now and I will have another go when term finishes and I can think straight again! -- or as straight as I ever can.

Thanks
