I wish! It snowed most of yesterday here so it is white-over once again - and neighbours have a marquee in their garden! bet it will be a bit cooler than they planned.
Happy May First!

It's been a bit cooler here today, about 15 degrees, but sun's still shinning! I've been oiling our garden furniture and it's the first day in ages I've been able to go outside without feeling as though I've got sand in my eyes! Looks like the dreaded birch pollen season is almost over for this year (hopefully I'm not talking to soon!!)

Great song James!!
I only go to work on my bike when there's not an R in the month.
So it looks as if tomorrows when i start.
Although i may go on my scooter tomorrow cos i've not been well these past two days.

Not many people know that the BeeGees started off as a folk trio, forgetting that their first hit (The 1941 New York Mining Disaster) was a folk(ish) song, but for the real thing you can't beat the Watersons:

Re: Ist Of May.
I have to admit i had to google The Watersons.
I knew of them and i vaguely remembered an LP of theirs from back in the 60's.
Looking back i was obviously a " Closet Folkie" . We didn't admit to liking poofy music on our estate. The only people who listened to this stuff were Art School Beatniks!! Not true of course but hey we were young and iimpressionable.
Little did we know that what we were listening to back then and what we listen to today is a melting pot of all types of music.
I always say a good song is a good song no matter how old. Whether it's Cole Porter,Mendelsohn or Alex Turner. It's the emotion, the hairs standing up on the back of your neck ,that's what's important to me and i get that with folk music sometimes.
