Dainty Connection?

Post by linell »

Ithink these two links to Dainty born Wombridge Shropshire connect, both in Dudley before 1841:-

Do you think William and James are brothers.

I added Sarah Dainty, born abt 1797 in Shropshire. In all of the census's she was on, I couldn't read her birth place. Now I've seen Wrockwardine on James's birth place - I'm pretty sure that it is.

These are the children of William and Elizabeth Dainty.

1. MAREY DAINTEY - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Christening: 02 AUG 1767 Wombridge, Shropshire, England

2. JANE DAINTEY - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Christening: 28 DEC 1760 Wombridge, Shropshire, England

3. ELIZABETH DAINTY - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Christening: 07 JUL 1765 Wombridge, Shropshire, England

4. SARAI DAINTY - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Christening: 03 APR 1774 Wombridge, Shropshire, England

5. JAMES DAINTY - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Male Christening: 05 JAN 1772 Wombridge, Shropshire, England

6. WILLIAM DAINTY - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Male Christening: 11 JUN 1769 Wombridge, Shropshire, England

7. JOSEPH DAINTEY - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Male Christening: 26 JAN 1763 Wombridge, Shropshire, England

I don't have William on a census, so I have estimated his birth around 1770

Do you think it's safe to join them ?

I don't get this:-

William baptised 11.6.1769 Wombridge to Joseph and Sarah (ok he has children Joseph and Sarah) then Wm Marries Elizabeth Ball 18.5.1795.

James baptised 5.1.1772 Wombridge to Joseph and Sarah. (Also another bap for James 4.6.1774 Wombridge to John and Mary, forget this one while we work on the Joseph and Sarah connection.)

So Joseph and Mary have Wm born 1769 and James born 1772. Wm Marries Elizabeth Ball, James Marries Sarah Beard, they call their son James Ball Dainty :?: :?: Why would James 1772 call his son after his brother's wife :?: :?:

Any ideas Maggie, something is not right here :?: :?:

Later from Linell.

Maggie has:-

These are the children of William and Elizabeth Dainty.

5. JAMES DAINTY - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Male Christening: 05 JAN 1772 Wombridge, Shropshire, England

6. WILLIAM DAINTY - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Male Christening: 11 JUN 1769 Wombridge, Shropshire, England

So yes they are brothers, but Wm still Marries Elizabeth Ball and James calls his son James Ball Dainty in 1791 :?: :?:

Not found any connection as such, there is a note in an Indenture saying that James Dainty added the name Ball, which makes me think that William Dainty 1769 and James Dainty 1792 both born Wombridge/Wrockwardine Salop, were probably Cousins. Have added what I can to BCC:-
