SAMUEL WILLETS
MARY PARRISH
Marriage: 15 OCT 1827 Saint Thomas, Dudley, Worcester,

all those that mention mary payne are submitted so they could be incorrect and the mary is mary parish that would make thomas and joseph in the link brother

Hi Pete, yes Thomas and Joseph are sons of Samuel Willetts born 1805 and Mary Ann Parish, they are all here:-
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =787598415

Witnesses to Mary's marriage to Samuel Willetts were John Parish, Mary's brother and Elizabeth Willetts future wife of John Parish. Witnesses to Thomas and Eliza Franklin's marriage were Josiah Siviter and Mary Taylor. Best Wishes linell.

I think this is the right one, he was born in Leicestershire.

Births Jun 1883.
HACKETT Sidney Arthur. Leicester. 7a 229.

1901, I think you will find him in Bournemouth with a brother Reginald W,
and his mother Sarah E.

1901, his father William, sister Maud Mary, and other brother Percy William are in Leicestershire.

1891, he is in Bournemouth with mother and brother I think.

Jimmy this is the wrong one as we've looked the Sidney Hackett and Mary Layton marriage up and his father is Edward and hers is Thomas
Sidney was age 20 -she was age 19 so born c 1888 or 1887 and from the 1901 census Sidney is there with his father Edwin/Edward
and his mother Ann Maria (Nee Taylor) one of the witness was Joseph taylor and the other Annie Layton- Mary's sister

This is what Raymond sent me, so it looks like he as got this wrong then,

In viewing these I am looking for a Sidney Arthur HACKETT b 1883 (Leicester, Leicestershire, England, United Kingdom Description: England & Wales, Birth Index 1878-1960 ([7a]- p229)

with what I have been able to find out a possible sister Maud Mary 1876 and a brother Percy William 1880 (Hinckney Leicestershire) [if my google maps indicate is well east of Halesowen - correct me if I am wrong].

Sidney, my mother's father, married Mary Layton about 1907, the Laytons lived in Lutley which appears to be in the correct location as Halesowen and presumable both Mary and Sidney separated soon after Mums birth and she raised by her Grand Parents in Halesowen.

Yes Jimmy looks like it is the wrong one....

We found a birth that looks very good too

Births Mar 1887
HACKETT Sydney Stourbridge 6c 150

So the Leics one I believe can be ruled out with all the names that we have now tied in.
Based on marriage docs, census etc etc
so important to actually check the docs where we can especially with Willetts and Hacketts!
And don't get me started on the Jones side!
6 spare birth certifs I had for an Edward Jones

Just to add a bit more Thomas Parish baptised H/O 1849 was the son of Harriett Parish and Thomas Crumpton. Harriet and Thomas Married 18.11.1849 Halesowen, just after he was baptised. Notes for Thomas Parish/Crumpton.............Thomas is mentioned in the book about the history of Hasbury Methodist Chapel. Thomas was a Blacksmith and built all the Iron Railings which surrounded the Church and Sunday School. He was the Chief Worker when the men built their own Gas Plant. A hole 12 feet deep was built to house the Gas Holder. The men laid 4000 bricks, and filled the hole with buckets of water from three wells, which took a whole week. born 1849:-

Notes for Thomas Crumpton Snr born 1817 ..............Witnesses to Thomas and Harriet's Marriage were Thomas's brother Henry and his wife Catherine, they all made their Mark. Harriet has no father entered. On the 1851 Census Thomas was living a few doors away from Harriet, with his Widowed mother and brother Joseph. In 1873 Thomas was given a coat by the Lea-Smith Charity he is recorded as being blind. I don't know how long he had been blind, he had worked as a Nailer, by 1881 he was no longer working, I wonder if it was an accident whilst forging his Nails?
