hi there,
hope no one minds me posting this here. i wondered if any members of the forum might have a story they might like to share with my middle names project at http://themiddlenamesproject.tumblr.com and http://jameshogwood.typepad.com/tmnp
the idea crashed into my head when we had our son, milo. it took us a while to decide on his first name, but we always knew his middle one would be walter, after my other half's granddad. which made me think about how a person's middle name often reveals a lot about them; it can tell the story of their connection to another person, another place, another idea. but it tends to get lost, sandwiched between your first and surnames.
so i'm curating a bunch of famous people's middle names, and some normal people too (you know, the kind you can't read about on wikipedia). it made sense to me that a group of people interested in family history and connections might have some interesting stories to tell. any story, big or small, is interesting to me. so if you have one, i'd love to hear about it at http://themiddlenamesproject.tumblr.com/submit
thanks very much for reading!
best,
james
