Hi - I'm struggling to find a GRO number via the Gov . UK site (https://www.gov.uk/research-family-history). It's for a birth cert that's from 1953.
When using the filter to find it, the years 1935 to 1983 aren't available. I've looked and can't find a reason why. Has anyone got any idea why they aren't there and also how do I find the GRO reference number for years between '35 and '83?
Thanks
GRO

Re: GRO
Thanks all. Makes sense (although the cynic in me thinks that it's a bit of a cash cow for the GRo to not have the dates between 35 and 83 transcribed as they can then charge extra for when someone doesn't have their GRO....)
Anyway, I tried freebmd before messaging on here but with no luck. After another couple of goes though, I've found it.
So thank you again for that.
