Hi

I can't decipher the "Occupation or profession" on my great-great-grandfather's marriage certificate - could anyone help?

This is interesting - why would a marriage certificate specify "Birmingham Warehouseman" rather than just "Warehouseman"?

Samuel Moore was born in Brum, but he was married in Islington, so why would they describe him as a a ""Birmingham Warehouseman" - does this indicate he still worked in Birmingham, or something else?

This question was also asked on another forum and the person was referred to the British History Online web site under Birmingham Goods

So this reads to me, that you ancestor worked in a warehouse which held goods from Birmingham
