Numbers in place names

Postby rcj » Mon Feb 19, 2018 6:42 pm

I have seen a number of entries in data I have imported from smart matches, where a place is described by a number, such as:
1680787, Worcestershire, England.

I don't understand what this means. I assume it is not a map reference as it has 7 digits. Can anyone explain it please?

Could you explain a little more re "importing from smart matches"? Sorry, not sure what you mean.
