Can anyone decipher the occupation and "where born" on the attached?
The "occupation" looks like "primer" but I guess it might be "printer"

I'd go with 'primer' for the occupation - if it were 'printer' I think the 't' would be more noticeable.
For the birthplace, 'Midx' is probably an abbreviation of Middlesex, especially considering the ditto on the entry below before St Martins. For the second part, I'm tempted to say perhaps 'Shoe Lane, City of L' meaning City of London?

I agree with this. The next person down in the census is a printer-compositor so primer may well refer to a step in the printing process
