ARC TBC - A bevy of best men.

Postby SRD » Sat Jan 15, 2011 7:59 pm

Mallosa has kindly uploaded a couple of photographs onto the 'Lost and Found Relatives' forum in the gallery for me.

A wedding - My Parents (early 1950's) at Clayton Church in Sussex shows my parents, outside the church in Sussex where they were wed, with my grandparents, behind them is my father's best-man, I have no idea who he was or where he came from, does anyone recognise him?

A wedding taking place in the late 1940s/early 1950s shows my father (with the beard) as best man at another wedding, I have no idea of any of the other participants, does anyone else recognise any of them?

I would have thought the bestman may have been a witness?
What does that say on the marriage certificate and can you rule that person out?

I admire your optimism that I have a copy of the wedding lines, but I understand that my grand-parents were the witnesses so it wouldn't help even if I did.

Oh what a shame!
People sometimes do forget to take note of witnesses but they can come in so useful.
Good luck and I hope you find him!

A person should have an opinion on everything, It becomes tact whether you reveal that opinion or not.
