ARC TBC - David BOLTON, Tipton

Postby cloudyskies » Sat Dec 18, 2010 9:52 pm

David BOLTON was apparently born in Tipton in 1866 (according to census returns), but the only David BOLTON (1866) I can find, died in infancy. His father was also called David (according to David 1866's marriage certificate). I cannot find any record of them before 1891. Can anyone help?

Thank you so much!

Yes- that's him as he married and had his family in Malvern.

I'm not able to locate him or his family in Tipton prior to this. I guess he might have been born there, but not lived there for long? I just can't get further back than this and apart from his marriage cert. naming his father as David, I am unable to find any more of his family.

Thank you for your prompt reply.

Sorry- should have said - the birth you referred to appears to be that of a David Bolton that died in infancy. I could be wrong though!

Thank you!

I'm going to double check both of those references.

Father's occupation was 'labourer' (not much help!).

Many thanks.

I have the Tipton birth certificate, but do not believe it to be the correct David. I have found the West Bromwich David on 1971 census, but his mother (Elizabeth BOULTON b.1830) was widowed at that time and I cannot find her on earlier censuses or records for her marriage. I think I may order his birth certificate and go from there.

Thank you for your help.

Is this still a Brickwall, or have you solved it?
