Sorry, I've only just looked at this correspondence!
William Skidmore and Mary Banner belong to the Birmingham, not the Black Country Skidmores according to Linda Moffatt's book, p. 335. William married perhaps firstly Phoebe Purkins on 17 Feb 1788 at St Martin's, B'ham, no children. Then he married Mary Banner (b. 1776/7) at St Martin's on 17 Oct 1796, witnesses Benjamin Banner senior (father? so also had brother Benjamin?)and Elizabeth Banner. She was perhaps dau. of Benjamin and Sarah Banner, baptized at St Peter's R C church, Birmingham on 6 June 1779. William and Mary Skidmore may have been involved in the button trade (she was witness in court case against Thomas Palmer in 1802, theft of buttons and watch chains). She died in Beak Street aged 76 and was buried at St Philip's on 23 Oct 1853. They had a son Benjamin bpt. 9 April 1798, marr. Jane Martin at St Martin's 26 Aug 1817. They had 8 children, Elizabeth 1817, Sarah Ann 1819, Benjamin 1822, John 1827, Jane 1826, Ann 1829, Frances 1830. Baptisms at St Martin's, burials at St Philip's.
Hope this helps!
