is that usually the case that army personnel have two service numbers?
That's him definitely from Homewood looks like he was medically discharged then? so if I searched him ie where he was in ww1 what number would you use...

thanks all this is correct my dad said Jane married again a Charlie Smith they didn't have any children they are both buried at Heath cemetery but not together. William died in a hit and run accident as the 2nd ww started .according to the local papers he was left dead at the roadside decapitated a gruesome site for a local farmer to find...

thank your for the latest information my aunt said he had a permanent limp due to the gsw.. action in the Mediterranean would that be Gallipoli? just a thought. I'm trying to find is grave at the moment through the church. he's in an unmarked grave just waiting for the people to get back to me
