Hello,

Can I ask a favour? If anyone has a death certificate for any ancestor from Tipton (especially Dudley Port) could I ask you to look at it and check out the informant. I am looking for Sarah Barnett. She was informant on my ancestor's death certificate, and some others I have found, so I suspect she was the local 'woman who does' - sitting with the dying, laying out the dead etc (what Terry Pratchett would call a witch). I'm keen to find out if she turns up on any more.

Thanks in advance.

George Whitaker died in 1872 but I think she had been on death certificates over quite a long period. She had been in the area since the 1840s and I think the other person searching for here said hers were 1880s.

This is one of the comments in this thread, I can't find the longer one at the moment but it is by the same person, Willow154.

Is this still a Brickwall, or have you solved it?

Unless otherwise advised this will be moved to the Brickwalls Archived section
