I am interested to know the whereabouts and family of Fred R S Richards in 1939. Could be in Worcs. Gertrude Nancy Richards born Foley (always known as Nancy) was named as widow of Fred on her death cert and also a Richards in 1939 reg for her at Owls Nest Bromyard. No marriage has been found for them and he didn't die till 1940 when his widow was named Amy Isabella Jackson at probate. He did marry Amy so why did Nancy take his name? Did he live a double life, I wonder. All my research points to a big cover up to hide the fact that her son was illegitimate, but he was the informant for her death and supplied the name of Fred. There is one connection however and that is it was rumoured that Lawson was fathered by a Station Master, and both he and Fred worked for GWR albeit in different parts of the country. Help anyone out there who knows anything.

Thanks sparkstopper. Does it say where his youngest was born please?

Just found that entry on FreeBMD and he was born Bridgnorth and Ray b Stourbridge so that puts Frederick in vicinity of Hagley where Lawson was born. So was Fred his father?
