I've been looking at Reginald's antecedents using the info on the marriage certificate, he gives his father as George Edward and there is a 1901 census record:
48 Fitzwilliam Street, Hoyland Nether, Yorkshire
Charles Sellars, Head, 47, Coal Miner, Elsecar, Yorkshire
Mary J Sellars, Wife, 40, ,Elsecar, Yorkshire
George E Sellars, Son, 17, Iron Moulder, Elsecar, Yorkshire
Edith Sellars, Daur, 7, , Elsecar, Yorkshire
Kate Sellars, Daur, 3, ,Elsecar, Yorkshire
Maria Sellars, Daur 3mo, ,Elsecar, Yorkshire
One site transcribes Sellars as Sollars but the image definitely looks like Sellars
An iron moulder could also be a pattern maker.
However George also shows in the 1911 Census still living with his family and described as single and a coal miner.
But, if that George Edward is his father, Reginald was probably illegitimate but knew of his parentage. It may have been that George was, by the time of Reg's marriage, living with Reg's mother. Can someone look George up in the 1939 Register?
Also, it looks like Hilda's father died in 1923:
Deaths Mar 1923 (>99%)
Hardwick William H 64 Worcester 6c 138
which ties up with the certificate.
Incidentally, did you keep a note of the details on that 1924 Hardwick Margaret Sedgewick birth?
