ARC TBC Gray, Scotland

Postby Pin0977 » Tue Apr 18, 2017 4:14 pm

I'm looking for a record of Death for my Great Uncle, James Gray b 1903 and I am hitting a brick wall. I can't find anything on Scotlands People or Ancestry and I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to progress?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi and good luck with your search -I think with the info on offer James Gray Scotland born 1903 you may need MI5 or Interpol to find him ?? Always best to give as much info you have on site ,fresh eyes always help one way or the other Kind regards RF

I have more info, I just wasn't sure whether to put it all on straight away :P

He was born on 07.12.1903 in Aitkenhead Cottage, Aitkenhead in the District of Bothwell to Robert Gray (b. 28.11.1871 and d. 21.05.1950) and Margaret Anderson (b. 15.05.1882 and d. 09.01.1952). He was illigitimate, his parents got married 11.03.1904 and he was legitimised on 18.03.1904.

He was still alive in 1952 as he signed his Mother's death Certificate and his address was noted as Drumbathie Road in Airdrie. He was married to "Sadie" but other than that I don't have any other details of her or whether that's even her real name or if it's a shortened version of a name. I have a photo of their wedding which, going by the ages of the people in it, would date it about 1937-1940 ish. I'd love to be able to find a marriage and a death certificate if possible.

Thanks.

Is this still a Brickwall, or have you solved it?
