ARC TBC Parsons alias Lyttley

Postby thejollygardener » Wed Feb 15, 2017 6:30 pm

Hi everyone. Have just joined the forum. I was drawn here by the Black Country Connections where I found my Parsons alias Lyttley ancestors. Would like to hear from anyone who knows more about this family.

Hi jollygardener
I have put most of Parsons details on bcc and still am finding more.
Most of info was from a genealogist called Roger Boswell and I have massive Parsons trees and records he gave me which I have found to be 95% correct upon checking and go back to early 1500,s

Hello Mumbles

Thanks for telling me about your fabulous Parsons records. I have got good information on the decedents of:
Joseph Parsons b. 2 Apr.1837 at Halesowen, Worcs, d. Sept. 1902 at Tranmere
m. 30 Nov. 1857 at Parish Church, Liverpool, Elizabeth Leatherbarrow b.1838
I think this includes all male and female decendents.

BCC is incomplete. For example, Joseph Parsons b. 9 Jan. 1866 at Cambridge Place, off Pool Street, Birkenhead d. 1906 at Birkenhead
m. 26 Dec. 1894 at St. Catherine’s, Tranmere, Elizabeth Ellen Taylor
They had five children, not the three shown at: http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... ver=396407

Their ancestors are covered well by the BCC data so my mission now is to try to help solve the brickwall of ancestors of:
William Lytley alias Parsons b.c.1520 at Birchfield End, bur.8 Feb.1566 at Birchfield End.

Google Litley Fragments
LITLEY FRAGMENTS
people.exeter.ac.uk/MAPatric/maphome/FamHis/litfrgs.htm

and you can take back to 1168 and lots of details about Litley Parsons connections

What do people think of Thomas Stevenson's family tree? https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=mb0 ... nd&f=false

There is conflict with the Lyttley fragments, which seem to be well-referenced. For example, Stevenson has:
1. Philip de Lutley b.c.1370
m. Maud b.c.1370
2. Philip de Lutley b.c.1410
3. John de Lutley b.c.1439
m. Catherine de Wysham b.c.1440, dau. of John de Wysham (b.c.1410)

The Lyttley fragments have:
1. Philip de Lutteley (Lutteleye, Lutle) d.c.1316?
1291 held the manor of Lutteley in one fourth of a knight’s fee.
2. Philip of Lutteleye
m. Catherine (Katharine)
1316 Lord of Lutley
3. John Lutteley
1364-8, Rector of St. Mary the Virgin, Enville, Staffs.
1372 Lord of Lutteley on death of his brother. Confirmed 1389,1408,1415. Wife is Catherine de Wysham.

Depends how thorough you want to be, always a recheck of original documents and any solid evidence recommended for your own tree ,

I did not take Parsons tree back before early 1500 ,s on Bcc because records before that are not so reliable.
The records I placed on bcc are from a combination of Roger Boswell records and Records of Angell/Parsons family who have liased with Roger Boswell and myself (They have also registered Parsons Family Shield and have done some DNA investigations) . I have also had a lot of help from forum members in checking and amending records where errors have been found.

Is this still a Brickwall, or have you solved it?

Unless otherwise advised this will be moved to the Brickwalls Archived section
