ARC TBC James Hackett

Postby PanzerDan » Wed Aug 24, 2016 7:26 pm

Hi there, I've hit a brick wall with finding stuff about my Great Grandfather James Hackett. He was born in 1884, and died somewhere between 1919 and 1930. I cant find any record for the time inbetween, in particular his death entry? He served in WW1, but seems to have been one of the 60% who had the records destroyed by the bombing. The sketchy family story is that he died at home through poisoning possibly from gas during the war, and a story that he possibly had a gun carriage funeral through Netherton, Dudley. Ive found stacks about the rest of his family who moved to St Helens, but weirdly not James himself considering he didnt move away. Here is his last census entry...
Name James Hackett
Age in 1911 28
Estimated Birth Year abt 1883
Relation to Head Head
Gender Male
Birth Place Mursham, Worcestershire
Civil parish Rowley Regis
Rowley Regis, Staffordshire, England
County/Island Staffordshire
Country England
Street Address 23 Holly Bush St, Cradley Heath, Staffs
Marital Status Married
Occupation Iron Worker
Registration district Dudley
Registration District Number 372
Sub-registration district Rowley Regis
ED, institution, or vessel 20
Household schedule number 285
Piece 17369
Household Members
Name Age
James Hackett 28
Sara Hackett 30
Lily Hackett 8
John Hackett 7

Mursham, is Mushroom Green. On John Hackett's wedding certificate from 1930, he is marked down as deceased. I have his military number, and medal cards, and the medals themselves, but after that nothing. Can anyone point me anywhere where I can trace him better? Currently attempting to find any possible surviving descendants of his three brothers for any family info.
