I have a James Niblett, born in 1891 in Victoria, Australia, the son of James & Margaret Beaton.
I have his Military Service records both before and during WWI.
In 1919 he married Agnes Maud Moussel and his war record shows he applied for her to be granted free passage to Australia. However, in 1925 she appears, in her married name of Niblett, to have married Norman Kensett and then to have died in the March quarter of 1973 in Worthing.
Some online trees have Norman Kensett's spouse at that 1925 marriage as being Agnes May Niblett b. 1893 the daughter of Albert Samuel Niblett but I think that that Agnes died in the March quarter of 1967 in Bromsgrove.
James Niblett served in the Australian forces in Egypt during WWI and Norman Kensett also served there as part of the Egypt Suez Defences.
There is a death record of an Agnes Niblett in Australia in 1927 but the details mitigate against it being Agnes Maud Moussel.
I have been in contact with someone in Australia who knew James Niblett in the 1950s as a sad man, living alone in a shack (and, from the description, suffering from PTSD), and who wonders what happened to him in England.
Please can anyone find divorce papers regarding Agnes Moussel, application for a death certificate for James by Agnes, travel details to Australia, or any sighting of her that might show that she didn't just dump James and marry Norman bigamously.
Thanks
