Not sure if this is where I should be posting...Re Richard Rich c.1803-1849 married 1827 Dudley to Ann Timmins(Tipton)
Have been stuck for years re. Richard Rich. cannot find a baptism for him.
His, is the only Rich family that I can find in Dudley in 1841. So frustrating..as I have such a strong gut feeling that the following is connected to him, but...nothing concrete to back this up.
Baptism Susanna Rich 2nd Feb 1794 St Martins Birmingham -Parents Thomas + Susanna
Marriage St Martins Tipton By Banns 15 Sept 1817 Susanna Rich +Samuel Griffin (I'm thinking possible half-sister)
1841 Bond St. Dudley H0107/1196 folio 20 page4
Samuel Griffin 40 stone miner yes
Susan 40 no
1851 John St Dudley H0107/2032 folio394 page28
Samuel Griffin 53 collier Dudley
Susanna 57? Birmingham
+ lodger
1861 21, John St, Dudley RG9/2056 folio77 page5
Samuel Griffin 63 formerly limestone miner Dudley blind
Susanna 67 nailer Birmingham
Baptism William Rich 10th Dec 1792 St Martins Birmingham -Parents Thomas + Susanna
Marriage 24 July 1820 St Martins Tipton William Rich + Mary Jewkes Witness Samuel Griffin (2nd marr. for Wlm -1st Mary Gutteridge 25 March 1816)
As I said previously.. cannot find a bapt. for Richard Rich c 1803...a bit of a stretch...but could this be it..
Bapt. Richard Sheldon 28 Dec 1803 St Peter + Paul Aston Birmingham-Parents James + Susanna
Marriage Susanna Rich widow + James Sheldon widower 13 May 1799 St Martins Birmingham
I know it's all wishful thinking.. that somehow Richard wanted to be known as Rich..could he have been brought up by his elder siblings?
