This all looks promising, especially as Salop Row is probably the same as Salop Street (it was formerly called Shropshire Row.)
The stone mason thing is odd since Thomas is only 15 -19 so it may not be right.

BUT - the clincher seems to be that the 1851 Census shows that Pheba (Phebe) was born in Sedgley so she seems certain to be "our" Thomas's mother.
The ages for both Thomas and Mary are 29 which fits exactly.

Name Pheba Fellows
Event Type Census
Event Date 1851
Event Place , Staffordshire, England
Registration District Wolverhampton
Residence Note Salop Row
Gender Female
Age 68
Marital Status Widow
Relationship to Head of Household Mother
Birth Year (Estimated) 1783
Birthplace Sedgley, Staffordshire

Household

Birthplace
Thomas Fellows Head M 29 Sedgley, Staffordshire
Mary Fellows Wife F 29 Bilston, Staffordshire
Eliza Fellows Daughter F 2 Bilston, Staffordshire
Pheba Fellows Mother F 68 Sedgley, Staffordshire

So, the search is now for Phebe or Pheba's husband. I'll check the Wolverhampton Archives later.

Yes, that's the one where the Ancestry transcriber gives Jane's name as Tam in error.
Many thanks

Father for Thomas who marries Mary Scott is T. Fellows according to his marriage to mary

Then on bapt for george it is thomas

marriage for george fits so looks like Thomas and Phebe marry
and thomas' father is a thomas here
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =174284352

anyway looks right to me so have added to Bcc.

dont get too worried aceofbase about age on 1841 often out
and him being a stone mason is good on 1841 and matches marriage he must change occup later.

what we need now is thomas and phebe marriage

I have found the following via Ancestry Family Tree Maker. Entering Thomas Fellows' parents as Phebe Fellows and Thomas Fellows led to a Trobridge/Fiege family tree here: http://person.ancestry.co.uk/tree/96563 ... 0124/facts

I haven't yet checked all of this out and I am away in the West Midlands for the next two days so it will be checked at the weekend. In the meantime, this is a synopsis of the main facts of the above tree. The family seem identical to the one we are now favouring.

Thomas's father Thomas Fellows was born about 1779, in Sedgley, Staffordshire.
He had two sons and one daughter with Phoebe Elwick between 1813 and 1826.
He died in 1841 at the age of 62.
Their son George was born on February 8, 1813, in Bilston, Staffordshire.
Their daughter Anne was born on January 13, 1825, in Sedgley, Staffordshire.
Son Thomas was born in 1826.

This looks like a good fit.

no more info at that time.

moving this to Brickwalls now as not sure we can go any further in this section.

Let us know if you find any more info Aceofbase

This might link with Amy Marshall (niece) shown in the 1871 census as living with Thomas and family in Salop St Bilston.
