Postby grangers14 » Fri Jan 08, 2016 7:12 pm

We have John Boilstone on BCC here
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =301734206

I have been looking for him on census, this is the only one I have been able to find
1871. Whiteheath, Rowley Regis.
John Boilstone, head, w, 72, labourer in chemical works
Elizabeth, daur, Unm, 42, Nail maker,
Ellen, grand daur, 19, Nail maker
William, grand son, 16, Coal miner
Joseph, grand son, 13, Coal miner
Jane, grand daur, 10,
Hannah, grand daur, 2
All born Rowley Regis

It is possible he died 1878 and his wife Phebe in 1866

Can anyone see this family?

Thank you everyone for helping to look... :?
Interesting find Gardener, I will have to look more. Seems a good possible for first names and ages. Just Johns wife was Phebe? And there are possible matches for dates of births to date of :? deaths
Just going round in circles with this.

There isn't really any proof that the John Boilstone in the 1871 is the same one as on BCC is there?
We only have the three kids on BCC and they are all married by then aren't they?
So how do you know that is him?

I am sure that these are the same family.

In 1861 their neighbours are

Joseph Barley 39
Susanna Barley 39
Jane Barley 15
Rebecca Barley 8
Sarah Barley 3
Susanna Barley 6/12
and they are still next door in 1871.

So if this John is married to Hannah in 1861 it can't be the one that you want for BCC.

Given this odd Boilstone/Bullas(s) thing, and the difficulty finding John and Phebe then I suspect that they too used an odd way to spell their names! The deaths look good though. Any chance that there would be an address on the burial record?

It does look like the same family Gardener.
Deaths certs of them both I suppose would help...
I will add that family on BCC, I dont think they are on.
But it is odd that Boilstone and Bullas is mixed up?

It is very odd. I wish it was possible to search with two wildcards in the same surname. I've tried every which way to find John and Phebe :-(

You don't know where John and Phebe are on the census do you?
