ARC TBC coombewood tube works

Postby kiwibrummie » Mon Dec 21, 2015 10:18 pm

My Gt. X 4 grandfather was Abraham Barnsley.
In 1860 he purchased land from Lord Lyttleton and built a tube works on the banks of the Dudley No. 2 canal.
Within a very few years he had sold the business to Noah Hingley & Sons who then sold it on to the Stewarts and it later became Stewarts & Lloyds.

Abraham's parents were Joseph Barnsley and Nancy Homer.
According to BCC Nancy was born in 1772 (est)
There is also an Ann Homer born in 1773 (est) who married a Noah Hingley and they had a son Noah born in 1797.
Abraham married an Ann !ngley/Hingley in 1819 (The name is recorded as Hingley on the birth records of some of her children).

I would like to establish the family relationships between these people, if there is any.
There is no evidence on BCC which will positively identify which of three Noah Hingleys was the head of Noah Hingley & Sons.
I would also like to know more of Abraham's involvement in the establishment of the tube works.
I wouyld be grateful for any help.

Just having a look at this ....so we have Abraham Barnsley here
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =386996713

he sold tube works to Noah hingley here
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =433548077

So the Noah who had tube works and is born 1796 has father Isaac and mother Esther

so a different one than this lot
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =237735896

is that correct?

Is this still a Brickwall, or have you solved it?

Unless otherwise advised this will be moved to the Brickwalls Archived section
