Joseph was christened 5th July 1813 St Giles parents Joseph and Eliz Baker Old Hill Gunsmith. All other siblings christened St Giles except William 1833. Can't find William. Found Joseph1851 c in Old Hill wife Ann . Bakers cottages. Kids Henry Sarah Samuel Ann E. Lots of Shaw kids christened St Giles. 1813 onwards. Gun smith connection also Tibbetts and Parsons. Closely knit community it seems. I'm Still looking for Joseph's wife.

Found a baptism St Thomas 8th Sept 1844 for a William parents fit father labourer abode Derby end. His sister Phebe has her abode down as Derby end in her marriage of 1842. May be the family moved from Dudley wood to Derby end. May be William's was a late baptism.

That's a shame. Think I have found Samuel on BCC born1790 daughter Elizabeth married Thomas Hancox 1815. Wit to her wed James Baker and Rosannah Payne. On BCC born 1801 . I think James is a brother to Joseph (father Samue1790l) All gunsmiths. Samuels wife Sarah? All Old Hill.

If you go into James Baker 1801 on BCC you will see there is a ? by Samuel Baker as father. Just finished my sub for Anc. I wonder if some one could check on original census in case wrongly transcribed. Just to make doubly sure Samuel is Joseph's father. Not some other relative I know too many Bakers. Slowly plodding on.

Free reg I have a marriage 30th May1841
Samuel Smith Forge man father Benjamin Smith Forge man from Old Hill and Mary Baker father Samuel Baker Gun Barrel Maker wit James Bloomer and Eliz Hancox. from Old Hill. I think Mary Baker is another sibling. A James and Mary Smith are on the 1841 census living with Samuel and Sarah. Of age on marriage but then most of the birth dates are quess work on 1841 census.
