Illnesses/Cause of death COMPLETED

Postby Sharon » Wed Feb 10, 2010 4:55 pm

In my never ending search for John Moore of cradley and his wife Ann Turner, I've just received her death certificate. She died 6th August 1777, High Street Cradley aged 48 of "Enteric Fever".her death is registered by her brother Benjamin- John is STILL missing!
Does anyone know what "Enteric fever" is?

Just a thought...we have a wonderful page explaining occupations-would one explaining illnesses or causes of death be useful-or do we already have one and I've missed it?

as ever, thanks all. Ann's 10 year old daughter Harriet was buried ten days before Ann's death....
Does anyone have information on typhoid in Cradley in the 1870's?

Big killer of early pioneers in the Australian Goldfields. Sometimes I think the cause of death might be something else but it is convenient to blame Typhoid so the Doctor doesn't have to think much about it :)
