COX, YATES, OWEN, LOFFREDA - Yorkshire

Postby wendyel » Fri Aug 21, 2009 5:29 pm

Hi
Just joined and trying to sort out a bit of a tangle in the tree! Particularly looking for Mary Jane Yates - Married Ernest Cox of Bradford in Liversedge in the 1880's or 90's then married Thomas Valentine Owen (born 1883 in Toxteth, Liverpool) and continued living in the Cleckheaton area till I loose track of her and Thomas after 1914 - would really like any information on their date of death - or any other info. about them. Their son Ernest, born in 1914, lived in Wakefield and had children by a lady with the surname Loffreda. Again, would be really interested to know anything about the family.
Thanks
wendy

Hi Wendy

I went to Huddersfield archives this morning to try and find your Ernest Cox burial, well there is good news and bad, the bad news is I could not find ernest 's burial , I searched Liversedge cemetery records between July, August Sept, Oct 1912, the same for Heckmondwike and Clecheaton, then I searched the Cleckheaton Gaurdian issue August 2nd 1912 for a death announcement and bingo found a Ernest Cox died the 27th and buried a Liversedge cemetery on the 29th, so got the cemetery records out again but still could not find him , I asked one of the assisants if she would take a look and see if I had missed it and she could not find him, the reel of film was marked un-consecrated and they could not find a consecrated for Liversedge , so not sure if that could be the reason.

If you get in touch with Kirklees Cemetery dept and give them the detail they will tell you the grave number and send you a plan of the cemetery with it marked and then if you would like a phot taking let me know and I will take one.

If you send me a PM with your address I have got a photo copy of the newspaper showing Ernests death.
