I feel daft putting this question here but can't locate another place for it (or I am being blind).
After many years of trying to find 6 missing siblings I have learnt that one I know about was a twin (via a distant relative).
The one I know about is Sarah Dora Smith born 4 Nov 1895 (but registered as 11 Nov 1895 as they were late registering the birth) baptised 1 Dec 1895 St James CoE Wolverhampton.
Now there was only ONE child baptised so what happened to the twin?
Sarah's parents were in the habit of using different churches and denominations (ie CoE and RC) for the Baptisms.
Looking on the Wolverhampton Indexes for Burials there are two possibles if the twin died very young
"8 November 1895, no name, unbaptised, lived for 4 hours, buried at Merridale, from St Mark's parish, grave number 6115, reg/no G4/01799
5 Jul 1896, Georgina Smith, 7 months, abode Faulkland Street, buried at Merridale, from St Mary's parish, Daughter of James, grave 131a, reg. no G4/02601"
Georgina's birth was registered in the same quarter as Sarah's but has a different index number Sarah 6b558 Georgina 6b557.
What is the likelyhood that Georgina is Sarah's twin?
Cheers
Simon
