You got a marriage cert ? or are you just wanting more history on what your granfather did ?

covertry electrol rolls might help ?

what types of ships was your granfather on and what was his job on them ?
A person should have an opinion on everything, It becomes tact whether you reveal that opinion or not.

It might be worth your while contacting Birmingham Archives

http://www.birmingham.gov.uk/archives

They may hold records for Dunlop

I am sure your grandfather would have been allowed to vote at that time.

There are loads of Meah's on the Birmingham Electoral rolls on Ancestry, but it is only up to 1952. The electoral rolls, don't tell you occupations though.

Hi all, thank you for your response!

I saw that document. I'm not sure whether he went to London first before going to Coventry.

I haven't thought about looking at the Birmingham archives, but I will have a browse at there archives.

Thankyou for digging around some infor for me.

Cheers :P

Hi
Where did your grandfather marry? And where were his children (child) born? The certificates for those events may list his occupation, and provide an address. Or the marriage of a child might give father's occupation.
Or were these family events outside Britain?

Hi, my grandfather was the first member in my family to immigrate to the UK in the 40's/50's. He was married in Sylhet-India (Bangladesh) and all his children were born in Bangladesh. Thus, all of personal life events happened in Bangladesh.

What about the children's marriages? Were they in the UK?
