William Dodman & Mary ?

In this post I am asking for a census look-up for William Dodman b. 7 Jan 1821 Snettisham, Norfolk, England. According to the 1875 census William d. 18 Jul
1875, at 54 yrs. of age . " My problem is I do not know if this is correct or not!!!!!!! " For I am being told William R.I.P. Sherman Cemetery, Thamesville, Kent County, On. That is clearly not him. This grave I am talking about is for a William Dodman who d. 19 Jul 1855, so birth is est. 1799, for he was 56 yrs. of age at death.

As for Mary she is the wife for this William Dodman as well. The grave clearly states she d. 12 Apr 1834, 52 yrs. of age, birth est. 1782.

Getting back to my William 1821 & his wife Mary ? I am told she died 1874, b. 1821 est., so she would have been 53 yrs. of age.

I have been lead to believe the grave in Sherman Cemetery, is a " Mistake!!!!!!!!! " My problem is I can not find any information for a grave in Ridgetown, Thamesville, Bothwell or Chatham, which are all part of now Chatham- Kent, Kent County, which is the surrounding area of Zone Twp., where my William 1821 & Mary lived in.

I am asking for the 1874 & 1875 censuses look-up, to see if my William 1821 & Mary actually died in these yrs. & where they are buried, if possible?

I think you have to tread carefully here, the date you gave is not the date of his birth, but of his baptism. I say tread carefully, as there are two William DODMANs' who are born in Snettisham at similar time, the Baptism on 7th Jan 1821 lists Nicholas DODMAN and Mary (PILGRIM) as parents, there is also an entry with Baptism on 10th Aug 1820 with parents Thomas and Mary.

It is safe to conclude that the birth was in 1820, not 1821.

I am not able to view anything other then UK and Irish records, but there are a number of public trees with these individuals listed.

Do not rely on other peoples research as fact!

Now I have that out the way, there seems to be a promising public tree which gives quite a bit of detailed information, so seems its good but heed the warning, correct parents for the 1821 Census. Here are the details I pulled from that tree, but is the wifes name correct? There is another tree which lists her as Mary Ann (DeGRAW)

Eh Andrew: yes these 2 William Dodman's born in Snettisham, around the same time, are 1st cousins. Nicholas is an older brother to Thomas. Nicholas is my direct line of lineage.

As for the family tree you posted stating Mary Decaw, I know the owner of this tree, I am not sure if this person is correct or not. For a sons, Robert, marriage in Hamilton, On., in 1899 ( ? ) Not sure if this date is correct, anyways, Mary's maiden name is DeGraw, this is where I am getting her name, but...
At the same time a daughter's marriage, has Mary's maiden name as Hoy.

What I do know of Mary is she is Canadian born, Ontario, French Ethnic & Illiterate!!!!!!!!!!!
