Harry's Cottage Woolbridge nr Wool Dorset

Postby Carol » Thu Aug 15, 2013 7:50 pm

Hi Everyone,
I wondered if anyone is able to look for a census lookup from a Dorset address? I don't mind what years- anything you can find as I'm starting from scratch on this one. the address is

1 Harry's Cottage
Woolbridge
Near Wool
Wareham
Dorset

I believe there are a row of 3 cottages so info on any of them would be welcome. Any of the cottages and any year.

They are next to Woolbridge Manor and I think they are part of the Drax Estate.

Thanks
Carol

Hi Sparkstopper-thanks that's brilliant. Those place names and Maiden Newton and Litton Cheney.

Wonder if anyone can see any earlier info?

Hi Sparkstopper

Thanks so much- I'm not really researching any particular family- just the cottages as a friend of mine has just moved into one of them.

I think the Wool Bridge entry with a farmer of 300 acres will be the manor house and it's Wool Bridge 1 and 2 that I am interested in . Are there any details of the family members at 1 and 2? It would be lovely to find out how many children lived there. Looks like it could be father and son next door to each other?

I think the 4th one must be some distance away.

Hi Sparkstopper

Thanks so much . They were probably occupied by farm labourers for at least 300 years. Weren't they were the lucky ones when I think where my ancestors hung out!
