if anyone can find his army records j hill was inthe dragoons in 1914 /1918 he was born at rounds green oldbury in 1886 his mom was a elizabeth and henry hill he cameback from wwi and died from his wounds thanks

Hi Val,

I've found Joseph's service records and the information I've found is different from the information you received. Joseph did serve in the Dragoons but was stationed at home before moving to the Buffs Regiment seeing service abroad and sadly dying of Dysentery in Malta but he never came home and was buried in Malta.

Joseph's Regiment was part of the 28th Division and below is the information on their movement during the war which tallys with the information on Joseph's service records.

The Division was ordered on 19 October 1915 to to prepare to sail. The first units left Marseilles for Aelxandria (Egypt) five days later and all units (except XXXI and CXLVI Brigades RFA) were there by 22 November. The Division was then ordered on to Salonika and completed its disembarkation on 4 January 1916.
