George Hillman Royal Marine Light Infantry

Postby SRD » Fri Nov 23, 2012 8:33 am

I have a George Hillman b 1883, Petworth, Sussex to George & Susan. He's at home in 1891, missing in 1901 then, in 1911, a Private (probably a Military Tailor) in the RMLI at the Royal Marine Barracks, Forton, Alverstoke, Gosport, Hampshire after that I've lost him.

Please can anyone find any more military records for him?

Thanks.

Thanks Mark, presumably his discharge was after hostilities ceased.
I don't suppose you've been able to find any enlistment info have you?

No, the Marine records are not as open as the Army.
